New Refreshed Podcast

Welcome to Stones that Speak: Biblical Archaeology

We are pleased to introduce Stones that Speak, a podcast devoted to exploring the fascinating world of biblical archaeology and the discoveries that illuminate the historical and cultural setting of the Bible.

The podcast continues the work that began under Bible Interact, carrying forward its commitment to thoughtful discussion, careful scholarship, and a greater understanding of the biblical world. Now sponsored by Electronic Christian Media, Stones that Speak begins a new chapter with a renewed identity and an expanded vision.

The title reflects the purpose of the podcast. Ancient stones cannot speak with voices, but temples, inscriptions, pottery, coins, tombs, city walls, and other archaeological remains preserve powerful testimony about the people and events of the past. When examined carefully, these discoveries help us understand the geography, customs, languages, politics, and everyday life of the ancient world.

Meet the Hosts

Stones that Speak is hosted by Dr. George Sparks and Dr. David E. Graves.

Together, they guide listeners through archaeological discoveries connected with the Old and New Testaments. Their conversations combine historical research, biblical studies, excavation experience, and interviews with archaeologists, scholars, authors, and other specialists working in the field.

Each episode seeks to make biblical archaeology understandable and engaging for everyone—from experienced researchers and students to pastors, teachers, and listeners who simply want to know more about the world behind the biblical text.

What You Can Expect

Future episodes will explore subjects such as:

  • Important archaeological discoveries from Israel and the wider biblical world

  • Ancient cities, inscriptions, coins, pottery, and architecture

  • The historical and cultural background of the Bible

  • Interviews with archaeologists and biblical scholars

  • Current excavations and newly reported discoveries

  • The ways archaeology can clarify—but should never be misused to exaggerate—the evidence related to Scripture

The podcast will approach these subjects with curiosity, respect for the evidence, and a commitment to responsible scholarship.
